Authentium antivirus 2

It should have an uninstall program Look under command antivirus. Never used it myself though. How did you get it? Are you the only person that's ever used the PC?

If no there are too many possibilities to name, if yes that it might have come pre installed or packaged with something else. It may have come with your computer.

If you cannot find an uninstaller as mentioned above, you can try some of the AddRemoveCleaners available on the Internet. They should be able to find Authentium in their list.

If that fails get help from someone familiar with registery editing as a last resort. If it's anything like Norton or Mcafee it won't be completely removed by an uninstall anyway. Authentium builds private-label security solutions on behalf of leading ISP's, developers, and institutions. You most likely have a suite you got from your ISP or web-portal that includes the Authentium engine.

Authentium anti virus is embedded into this trojan that i go and i cannot find a way to get rid of it. Egads, there are a lot of programs that aren't either in Programs or the Control Panel! Activating Windows Task Manager and ending the process dvpapi in the processes bar stops the program from running and allows installation of the new program eg System Mechanic.

Be sure to deactivate dvpapi from autorunning at next reboot! A good program to see all running processes is the freeware "Autoruns" from Sysinternals available at Sysinternals. Under Description you'll find dvpapi, the Authentium Antivirus. There you can also deactivate the program from autorunning. Hope I could help solving your problem as I could mine.
