Digitech gnx4 pro tools

IIRC the stock sounds are indeed repeated in the user bank so you can overwrite the user bank without losing the stock patches. There are techniques used in some of the stock patches that may be useful to examine for use in your own programming. That said, I don't think I've ever actually used a factory patch on the GNX4 since none of them came close enough to what I was looking for. I haven't used XEdit in quite a while. If you can't get XEdit to send patches, you can probably just look at how each patch is set up in XEdit and copy the numbers using the GNX4's hardware controls.

There aren't really that many parameters required to set up an amp model, cab, and some FX pedal emulation choices I've found some special magic using morphing. I've used guitar amps to monitor it live but generally use a full range powered speaker or house monitors since I'm often also playing other instruments like acoustic guitar, keys, violin, mando, bass or drums that benefit from full range reproduction. Guitars: My favorite electric most of the time is PRS due to build quality, action, tonal flexibility and looks, although on some days and for specific uses other guitars may get the nod and provide their own inspiration and variety.

It's a dependable, flexible, enjoyable workhorse. I have several Variax guitars. The first is Variax acoustic that I really liked until the bridge started pulling off due to a known manufacturing defect. The bridge was glued on over the finish, and the finish eventually gives way due to the string pressure.

My local authorized repair place said I needed a receipt to get it fixed under warranty, which I haven't been able to locate probably buried deep in the garage somewhere , and the local GC where I bought it didn't keep a record of it they dump their records after some relatively short amount of time, or so I was told.

So I'm sad about that. If some wonderful person from Line 6 or Yamaha happens to read this and wants to make it right, I wouldn't mind hearing from you. The other is a Variax electric. Mixed feelings on that one. I bought it on Ebay. It's amazingly flexible tone-wise and has a nice looking sunburst finish. I particularly like the Strat emulation, lack of hum, and the alt tuning ability.

I also like that it has no magnetic pickups. For a while I added a Roland synth pickup on it and did some fun solo looping shows with various guitar sounds, alt tunings, synth sounds and vocals. It did have problems staying in tune, so I put locking tuners on it and had the local authorized repair place replace the nut, which helped quite a bit.

The overall feel and action is not up to PRS quality. The way the whammy arm mounted was never right, always a bit wobbly, just enough to be unusable.

The local authorized repair place took a shot at fixing that problem by adding another set screw, which sort of works but now I can't take the arm off when it's in the gig bag - a bit awkward. Whammy rant: PRS does it right with their press-in arm which goes in easily and stays where you put it. Every other way of mounting the arm has given me problems eventually - Fender, Steinberger, Ibanez, Kramer, Line 6, I'm looking at you.

Maybe the newer Variaxen are better, I haven't tried them. Anyway, I've found good uses for these sonically flexible Variaxen, especially in the studio, and for solo shows where I enjoy jumping between guitar models mid-song. I do miss playing the Acoustic Variax since the bridge started pulling off. I really like that it has 24 frets, at least on the e and b strings. Sorry to shout, just an odd missed opportunity on their part. I sometimes muse about getting a newer Variax since they later added a 24 fret model with a whammy, but since my experience with Line 6 build quality has been mixed I haven't been quite ready yet to put more money in that direction.

Seems taking advantage of the stereo outs would be a plus, as would the flatter response PA amp. That's bad about your experience with the acoustic Variax and the lack of customer service. I understand that they would prefer a receipt, but on the other hand, an obviously factory flawed instrument should be repaired gratis receipt or not.

That's the best advertising they could get, and maybe the cheapest. I wonder if the newer I suppose newer JTV Variax guitars retain all or most of the problems you encountered with your ? I didn't realize the Variax line didn't have magnetic pups.

Or maybe it's not all of them? I hope you do contact them. I try to find contact info for someone as high on the totem pole as I can and write to them. I live in a rural area and remember ages ago the county was reworking the road in front of my property. In doing so, they damaged my waterline and removed the soil from above a long section of it leaving it prone to freeze. When I talked to the county road superintendent, he was rude and refused to do anything.
