Thermaltake v3 amd edition case review

I have tested many Thermaltake products and I can say that the V3 Black case is worth every penny you pay for it. The all black design is perfect for any home A couple of years ago Thermaltake released the and later the V9 Black Edition. Today we are taking a look at another case in their V-Series the V3. The V3 is designed to be very functional, but at a very low cost.

You can pick this case up for We saw some features of this case that we liked, and we saw some that could use some improvement.

The PSU design is a welcome change, however the filter would be better suited to outside the bottom of the case. This would allow us to clean it without Thermaltake V3 Black Edition is an excellent case if you consider its price tag. Strong Points Excellent ventilation: room for two fans on the top The Thermaltake V3 Black Edition boasts almost everything we could ask for on a budget gaming case.

The steel construction is a little flimsy but acceptable considering the price-point. With fine red mesh, this chassis is sure to please not just the eyes but the thermals as well. Top exhaust : x x 25mm fan Optional 4.

Rear exhaust : x x 25mm Red LED fan. Front intake : x x 25mm fan Optional. Bottom intake : x x 25mm fan Optional. Cons: couldn't use the top fan mounts due to lack of space between the case and MOBO. Seems a bit on the flimsy side. Pros: Cheap, looks great, surprising bang for the buck.

Some very nice features and touches for a budget case - i. On a side note: Don't buy into the "if you get your rebate" hype. Out of over 20 rebates for tech items I've sent in in the last year, I got every one back. On a few occasions I have had to call to inquire as to the status of a rebate. Without fail I will thereafter shortly receive the rebate. I'm convinced most problems with rebates are avoidable if you know what you are doing.

Overall Review: I build a computer once every couple years, and I will usually go with about the cheapest case I can find at the time. That being said, I've never built a computer in a case I liked more. Compared to budget cases I've used before, this case looks great, is good quality, and easy to build in; even coming with cable management options to make for a professional looking build. However, for a budget case you will not be disappointed. This case is much higher quality than other budget cases I have used in the past.

Pros: This case looks great. Has great ventilation with lots of places for fans, even on the bottom of the case. Front panel connections are plenty long. Case is painted inside and out. Bottom mounted PSU has it's own intake and filter unless mounted "upside down" which IS an option if you need that extra slack in the cables.

Cons: Pretty thin metal, but that's expected for the price. Quick mounts for the drives aren't great, and only secure the one side. I ended up just using screws.

Doesn't come with thumb screws. Only comes with one fan, although this is pretty common case will take at least 5 or 6 mm fans CPU cooler size height limitation is mm 6. This isn't a problem for me since I am still using a stock heatsink, but you have been warned if you have a large cooler.

Overall Review: I really don't know what people are complaining about with removing the front panel, all you have to do is pull it off. It has metal retaining clips, so they are designed for semi-repetitive use. This is a pretty sturdy case for the price range and fit my needs perfectly. I needed a clean looking case, that still had a "gamer" appeal, for my personal media center build.

The LED fan glaring through the little window is a bit annoying for this purpose, but that's an easy enough fix. All in all, I am very satisfied with this case, and wouldn't hesitate to buy again! Feels Great! Cons: The only con I have is that the other people giving bad reviews, and eggs because they don't know everything they're talking about.

Read other thoughts. Overall Review: Let me start off by saying this is my 2nd TTV3 case so if you're going to believe anyone, believe me. Basically, everything everyone is saying is true, most of the positive things people are saying is correct. It's the negative things that are not only not helpful, but they're wrong.

The first thing I will touch on is the SSD. However, it does not have its own physical bay. If you look inside all the way on the bottom under the last HDD bay, you will see 4 risers, they look like small ant hills. Your SSD sits right on top of those, and you screw it in from the underneath the case.

Hence " Hidden 2. To the ones who complained about this, see? Just a little research would of helped you, but instead you leave a con for it just because you did not see it, and removed eggs because of your own negligence. Next, are the fans. If you're building a ATX for a serious gaming machine, then you should be looking at bigger cases anyway.

I don't understand why people need to buy a mid tower that is honestly designed for micro boards, and then complain because they put a huge board inside with those crazy looking RAM sticks, and a huge PSU, and wonder why they can't fit extra fans.

The way I got the two fans up top was by putting my hand inside, and pushing up on the fan grating causing it to push up a little. You won't see this, but you'll feel it, so while you're pushing up on it, wiggle a mm into place. Your RAM sticks will hold it into place so you can easily screw them down. Very simple. I highly recommend the Thermaltake AF fans right here from Newegg.

What's that little tiny window on the side panel going to be used for? Sadly this simply looks like a modded imitation of the CM or Gladiator. PP Mguire To see the middle of a giant heatsink?? How exciting. Mmh its a good attempt at making a decent case. But its still Thermaltake, so naturally I'm very sceptical about this.

First thing I thought when I saw it was "wait, that looks like MY case!?
