Threshold transformer. Threshold powersupply. Ganzseitiger Faxausdruck. Who can post that? Threshold CAS2 front. Threshold CAS2 open. Threshold CAS 2 front rear. Threshold CAS 2 front. It includes schematics, parts lists, etc. Right now I am using Mirage OM-9 omni speakers. They are 6 ohms. These sound to me like the original "Time Windows" for anyone who remembers them.
The amp has already been serviced with new caps, speakers terminals, etc. Is this a fact? What pre-amp that can accomodate at least 2 reel to reel tape decks and the Original Elite Rock Turntable sound great with this amp? What power cable, speaker cable and interconnects will make this amplifier sound its best? I listen mostly to large and small scale choral and orchestral works as well as jazz groups. I love a warm sound and the sound of the human voice especially choral works.
I am willing to listen to and learn from all comments. And I plan to benefit from all that's said here. Thanks so much. Edit Delete.
Albeit, at a cost. Depending upon your specific amp, speakers, room and desired listening levels you'll probably be operating at low power levels and conversely high Class A output most of the time. I want to thank each of you and I value your great input. I am elated you would take the time to respond so quickly.
Also I will investigate Audio Research and a few other pre-amps to see what works. Thank you all. Let us know how the new amp is doing. Good afternoon everyone. I have not had a moments trouble. Also, there are no turn on or turn off thumps or other problems. So far, I am very happe with this powerful amp. Thanks all, I will be back with further details. Al, The power switch' are reputed to need replacement from time to time.
BTW, I really enjoy your posts, I'm glad you joined us. Thanks for the info and the kind comments, Unsound. Glad to hear Bob's unit is working out well, and doesn't have that problem. Best, -- Al. I just sent my S to Jon to have it upgraded. I can't wait to hear just how the upgrade will sound. New caps, fast recovery rectifiers, cardas binding posts, new power switch and I should have a new amp.
I had an S in the mid 80s that sounded decent but kept popping fuses so I got rid of it for a Classe 25 that had much more oomph. Eventually traded that guy for a CA with side heatsink basically a CA that sounded even better along with a McCormack Nelson said to me over at DiyAudio to bias it up higher so on a 30cc day you can just keep your palms on the heatsinks for 6 sec then have to remove, bricklayers need not apply.
If anyone needs I still have all the circuit diagrams and adjustments for it. First to get them has to spread them around. Cheers George. The OP must like that amp.
